Hand-guided Longarm Machine Quilting |

I like the sound of "About Us" but "us" would just be me and my Gammill Classic Plus longarm quilting machine. Together, our goal is to provide quilting services for all types of quilters from allover designs to custom and heirloom quilting.
I learned to sew in the summer between my fourth and fifth years of elementary school. I will be forever grateful for the teacher who taught me that if the seam is not correct, rip it out. I spent a lot of time that year ripping , but when I started quilting in 1984, that skill came in handy. Now, many years later, I like my seams to be straight, points to match, and blocks to be square. That said, I have learned to quilt tops that have "issues" and my goal is to quilt tops so they look their best. I got my first longarm machine in 1996 and spent the next 10 years doing allover designs. Patterns have changed and there are so many detailed pantographs on the market that it is easy to find designs that complement quilt tops. I also use ideas from the fabric and quilt design to develop customized overall designs. I retired from the US Air Force in 2004 and from my electrical engineering career in 2006. That is when I discovered custom quilting. Boy, is that fun. I enjoy freehand work and also use templates and rulers. See this smile? I LOVE my job!
