Example 1:  80" x 90" queen quilt with Edge-to-Edge Quilting @ $0.015 / in2 using 96" wide Hobbs 80/20 batting ($7/yard).

         

Machine quilting: (80 in) x (90 in) x ($0.015 / in2) = $108.00

(80" quilt + 8" extra) ¸ 36"/yard = 2.44 yards Hobbs 80/20 Batting: $17.11

Thread:  $5.00

4.9% Tax on Batting and Thread:  $1.08

 Total Cost = $131.19

 

Example 2:  80" x 90" queen quilt with Custom Quilting @ $0.025 / in2 using 96" wide Hobbs 80/20 batting ($7/yard).

Machine quilting: (80 in) x (90 in) x ($0.025 / in2) = $180.00

(80" quilt + 8" extra) ¸ 36"/yard = 2.44 yards Hobbs 80/20 Batting: $17.11

Thread:  $5.00

4.9% Tax on Batting and Thread:  $1.08

Total Cost = $203.19

Example 3:  58" x 76" lap quilt with Edge-to-Edge Quilting @ $0.015 / in2  using 96" wide Hobbs 80/20 batting ($7/yard).

Machine quilting: (58 in) x (76 in) x ($0.015 / in2) = $66.12

(58" quilt + 8" extra) ¸ 36"/yard = 1.83 yards Hobbs 80/20 Batting: $12.83

Example 4:  58" x 76" lap quilt with Edge-to-Edge Quilting @ $0.015 / in2 using 96" wide Hobbs 80/20 batting ($7/yard).  Hand sewn binding.

Machine quilting: (58 in) x (76 in) x ($0.015 / in2) = $66.12

Binding 2 x (58" + 76") = 268 inches @ $0.18/inch = $48.24

(58" quilt + 8" extra) ¸ 36"/yard = 1.83 yards Hobbs 80/20 Batting: $12.83

Machine quilting: (90 in) x (100 in) x ($0.015 / in2) = $135.00

Binding 2 x (90" + 100") = 380 inches @ $0.10/inch = $38.00

(100" quilt + 8" extra) ¸ 36"/yard = 3 yards Hobbs 80/20 Batting: $18.00
